Vigeo Eiris provided second-party opinion for Terna, the italian electricity transmission grid operator
Terna issued its first Green Bond.
This 750 Mio. € operation will finance projects aimed at increasing the production from renewable energies, projects aimed at reducing system CO2 emissions through the reduction of grid losses, projects aimed at reducing soil use and the impact on terrestrial biodiversity, thanks to substitution of existing overhead lines with underground cables and demolition of kilometres of existing lines.
With a maturity of 5 years and a coupon of 1%, the issuance received a high level of demand from investors with an oversubscription of approximately 6 times the offered amount. With this Green Bond, Terna pursues its commitment to contribute to the transition to renewable energies, as foreseen by its 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.
