Peter Webster elected to PRI Advisory Council
Yesterday the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) announced the results of the annual election of signatories to the PRI Advisory Council. Peter Webster, CEO of EIRIS, a leading global provider of ESG research for investors, has been elected to one of the two non-asset owner positions open for election this year.
Peter Webster emphasised his interest in making the responsible investment industry stronger and in making the PRI even more valuable to its signatories, in his pre-election candidate statement. Reflections on where responsible investment has come from and where it goes next are timely as EIRIS celebrates 30 years of empowering responsible investment in 2013.
Peter Webster commented, “I am delighted to have the support of PRI members who are doing so much to advance responsible investment globally. James Gifford, the staff team and the other members of the Advisory Council have done a fantastic job in building the PRI as a considerable force for change in our field. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with other Advisory Council members in helping to take that forward.”
Peter Webster will be in Cape Town, South Africa for the PRI Advisory Council meeting, 29-30 September, before the PRI in Person event from 1-2 October.
