The CSR performance of extractive industries in weak governance zones
The depletion of relatively high-grade, easy-to-extract mineral and hydrocarbon resources means that companies in the extractive industries are increasingly operating in more challenging countries.
These companies are highly exposed to allegations and controversies with respect to human rights violations, relations with local communities and corruption, more so than in any other sector.
- How do they manage and mitigate these risks? What practices do they implement?
- Which are the best performing companies and countries in this field?
In this new study, Vigeo analyses and compares on this subject, the strategies and practices of 40 European and North American listed companies in these sectors.
